The key of Shoes Like Pottery footwear is the vulcanizing (or ka-ryu in Japanese) process , performed by only a select handful of shoe manufacturers around the world. In the ka-ryu process, each shoe is fired in a 120 °C (248 °F) kiln for 70 minutes, similar to the way Japanese pottery is fired.  

All their production is made in Moonstar's factory in Kurume, Japan. They have been making quality shoes since the 19th Century.  

Assembly is another giving since all the shoes are hand-sewn by the skilled craftsmen of Kurume.
